Today, I would love to tell you about a place I visited with my baby boy last Sunday. I have heard about it from friends on many occasions. Last Sunday was just perfect for the field trip so we were off exploring Wroclaw’s suburbia.
Zielona Oliwka is a place known for its huge playground, mini zoo, nice walking pathways, plenty of picnic areas and last but not least – good food restaurant. That was enough to convince me to check it out.
This place takes a special care about the youngest guests – our children. Finally, someone has noticed that parents just need a fenced piece of land with lots of attractions for kids, a sitting area for oldies and a coffee! so we can sit back and watch those crazy monkeys do what they do best – be kids.
In addition to the playground, there are a number of other attractions like the mini zoo. There are pigs, goats, cows, donkey, peacocks, chickens, ponies. You can pat them but don’t feed them. Some of the animals can bite. why? cause they are animals after all.
An ice-cream shop is serving soft vanilla cones and waffles, which is a perfect snack option for kids and adults. Strolling along the park, you can encounter two talking trees with their eyes and mouth moving, waving their branches and telling stories in human voice. Might be a bit creepy for the little ones though.
Other attractions include an inflatable castle, trampolines and mega chess. Every toddler will definitely find something to do. It will be difficult to convince them to go home, like it was with my monster. Not even “let’s watch paw patrol” would work on him. Crazy times.
Worth mentioning is also the picnic area right next to the pond where you can sit back and relax on one of the sun beds or hammocks hanging on the nearby trees. So why not pack up a picnic basket, spread out a blanket to sit on and have a family Sunday snack in the wild while enjoying the perfect view. Perfect spot for a birthday party or friends catch up.
In the restaurant you can try Polish and European dishes. The menu includes both fish, poultry, beef, as well as light pasta, salads and soups. It’s really yummy so if the picnic basket doesn’t work out, you get to try their cooking.
We all loved the trip and surely will be back again.
The location of the park is in Kielczow at Rzeczna st. Hard to miss it.
